Stove, Oven & Grill SOP
Besides having Ellen strut around in her bikini, Golden Glow is heated with LP gas. The liquid propane canisters are located in the rear benches on either side of the rear halyard winch. The active canister is on the port side, the spares are on the starboard side. There are three 20 lb canisters total. There are four points of that need to be on for Stove, Oven or Grill to work: Tank valve, electronic breaker, electronic celynoid, and the stove top, overn or grill swith. The tank valve is normally open, unless we are away from the boat for a day or more. For the grill there is a fourth valve that needs to be ‘on’. Detail follow:
Oven and Stove:
- Tank valve always open, all else closed.
(Tank valve is closed when away from boat for more than a day)
- When needed: turn on electrical switch LP Gas in 12VDC electrical panel by nav station, this is the bottom switch in the central column of switches in the 12VDC section of the panel
- Turn on the LP Gas switch above and to the left of the stove
- STOVE: Turn on the switch at stove (top to the left a little more than a quarter turn) and hold down to auto light, if not lit in 5 seconds STOP
- Repeat above, if second attempt fails turn switch and use a lighter to light
- OVEN: Turn on the dail at the oven and press to get gas to the pilot light, light the pilot and while holding the oven dial, wait 30 seconds, then release the oven dial if the pilot light remains lit then turn the dial to start the oven. Verify that the burner is started.
- When done cooking: a) Turn off oven & stove b) Turn off switch above stove c)Turn off LP Gas breaker at electrical panel
Gas Grill:
- Tank valve always open, all else closed
(Tank valve is closed when away from boat for more than a day)
- When needed: turn on electrical switch LP Gas in 12VDC electrical panel by nav station, this is the bottom switch in the central column of switches in the 12VDC section of the panel
- Turn ON the LP Gas switch above and to the left of the stove, a green light will light
- Turn the red switch next to the LP canister UP to turn ON the Gas Grill line, to the right is OFF.
- Open the round white port hole next to the grill and pull out the LP hose.
- The gas hose is attached to the grill by turning the fixture upside down and plugging into the Grill.
- Open the grill to determine that it is empty and that the grease catch is installed and empty.
To light the grill, close the grill, turn on the gas, wait 1 second and press the red button. Immediately open the grill and verify that it is on, if not, let the grill air out for 5 seconds and then repeat this step. If not lighting after second or third try, use a long lighter placed under the grill (there is a gap between grill sections a third of the way from the right side of the grill.
